DISCLAIMER
The Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club was formed with the intent of providing a safe, affordable and competitive racing platform to honour and showcase the race cars and historical roots of the 1950's, 60's, 70's and early 80's dirt stock car racing throughout Eastern Ontario. The following rules and specifications have been drafted to ensure that the spirit and integrity of the club remain true to its roots and fan base.
The rules and/or specifications set forth herein have been developed to provide for the safe and orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. By making an application for a EOVSCC competitor membership, it is deemed that the competitor agrees to become familiar with these regulations and abide by the directions set forth and prescribed by Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and/or specifications. They are intended solely as a guide for conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others.
The interpretation and enforcement of these rules will be solely at the discretion of the EOVSCC officials & tech staff officiating the event and their decision will be final.
An Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club competition event shall be defined as either a regularly scheduled race event at the Brockville Ontario Speedway and/or any and all Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club sanctioned and/or affiliated events at other race tracks throughout the racing season. All competitors wishing to compete in an Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club sanctioned event must meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the current EOVSCC rules described herein.
1. BODY – 50’S & 60’S CLASS

Cars designs must be based upon any original American/Canadian made pre 1948 coupes/sedans.
-
Roofs must be the original steel roof from the year, make and model of the representative car being presented for competition. No fibreglass, composite or plastic allowed.
-
No factory manufactured hoods typical to that used on a post 1995 North-Eastern DIRT Modified or Sportsman race car. Engine cover/hoods must be constructed of sheet aluminum or steel only. Cowl induction hoods, scoops and deflectors of any type are not allowed. The hood/engine cover must cover the radiator and cooling fan.

No interior aluminum/steel or other material shall be located between the outer body/door panel and the frame rail.
-
The top panel covering the fuel cell must be located directly behind the driver's seat and shall not extend higher than the lowest horizontal surface of the rear window.
-
The right and left side body panels of the car shall be joined together behind the fuel cell fully enclosing the rear body of the car. No front, rear or side wings, spoilers, ducting or body parts that might increase down force will be allowed.

No nose cones similar in design, construction or mounting methods and/or location to that of a current DIRT 358 Modified/Sportsman shall be permitted. No body panel of any description shall extend beyond 1" (+ 1/16" tolerance) of the horizontal datum line created by the leading edge of the front shock tower tubes or front axle centerline whichever is furthest forward.

Valve covers must be visible from the side of the car. Side body panels must not extend forward beyond the midpoint of the cylinder head mounting flange of the headers.

A vintage car must look like a vintage car, correct to the time period it raced in. It is critical that anyone wishing to compete in an EOVSCC event communicate with the technical officials of the EOVSCC prior to the season or specific event to ensure their car's eligibility. Forward at least 4 pictures showing a front view, rear view, right and left side view of the car to the technical committee for approval.
2. BODY-70’S & 80’S CLASS

Cars designs must be based upon any Original American/Canadian made pre 1975 coupes/sedans

Roofs must be the original steel roof from the year, make and model of the representative car being presented for competition. No fibreglass, composite or plastic allowed. Roofs must be mounted relative to the stock angle (+/- 20) of the top of the roll cage.

No interior aluminum/steel or other material shall be located between the outer body/door panel and the frame rail.

The right and left side body panels of the car shall be joined together behind the fuel cell fully enclosing the rear body of the car. No front, rear or side wings, spoilers, ducting or body parts that might increase down force will be allowed.

No nose cones similar in design, construction or mounting methods and/or location to that of a DIRT 358 Modified/Sportsman shall be permitted. No body panel of any description shall extend beyond 1" (+ 1/16" tolerance) of the horizontal datum line created by the leading edge of the front shock tower tubes or front axle whichever is furthest forward.

Maximum body width may not exceed 62 inches. Length of body must be equal to half visibility of headers to rear of factory roll cage.

Rear measurement from the rear axle back, may not exceed 48” as per a modified/sportsman car. The rearmost section of the body must not exceed 48" measured from the centerline of the rear axle on both sides of the car.

Valve covers must be visible from the side of the car. Side body panels must not extend forward beyond the midpoint of the cylinder head mounting flange of the headers.

3. HOODS
Engine hood/covers are mandatory, but must be homemade, No factory manufactured hoods typical to that used on a post 1995 North Eastern DIRT Modified or Sportsman racecar. Engine cover/hoods must be constructed of sheet aluminum or steel only. Cowl induction hoods, scoops and deflectors of any type are not allowed. The hood/engine cover must cover the radiator and cooling fan and be compliant with the style of car.
4. BUMPERS
Front and rear steel tube bumpers must be used. See Section (27.e) for tubing specifications. Factory bumpers are recommended. Custom design bumpers eligibility regarding safety will be at the sole discretion of the technical inspection team.
5. SEAT & SEATBELTS

Seats must be fastened directly to structural members of the chassis framework or roll cage. Aluminum, high back racing style seats with head support are highly recommended. Fibreglass seats must have a steel frame for support. Headrests are required unless part of the seat.

A minimum 3” wide, 5 point safety harness with 3" wide lap and shoulder belts attached securely attached to the frame/cage at appropriate angles are required. All belts must be in good condition free of any fraying or tears. Belts must be SFI certified and not more than (5) years old at the beginning of the 2015 racing season.
6. ROCK SCREEN
The wind/rock screen must be of substantial size and strength to protect the driver from debris.
A full mild steel (magnetic) windscreen and/or rock guard is required. The windscreen and/or rock guard must have maximum individual hole opening of 2” x 1” with a minimum wire thickness of 1/16”. Chicken wire and/or aluminum screens will not be permitted. The windscreen and/or rock guard must cover the entire windshield area across the front of the roll cage and from the top of the roll cage down to the base of the cowl and/or hood. Plastic/Lexan or similar material and/or safety glass windshields are not permitted.
7. MIRRORS
No mirrors allowed, unless an original part of an original restored vintage car. During the 2014 racing season rear view mirrors will be allowed in select 50's/60's style cars as a matter of safety. This is to ensure that select slower cars are aware of their racing environment enabling them to choose a safe racing line which when possible will not impede the faster competitors on the track. For the sake of transparency the identity of these individuals/cars that are eligible for this exemption will be provided upon request to competitors by EOVSCC Tech officials.
8. LIGHTS
Lights allowed on cars.
9. PAINT & NUMBERS
All cars must be properly painted, lettered and numbered before they are allowed to race. The number on the car on the 1st night of the season will be the number that will be used by the officials in the tower for the remainder of the season. Should a new driver be behind the wheel the change will be differentiated by the use of an “X” following the original number.
10. TIRES
All tires must be in good condition without excessive wear or deterioration. Tire size must have factory sizing indicated on the tire sidewall and must not exceed 13/92-15. For asphalt events dirt soft compound tires are permitted on the left side only. Only dirt hard or extra hard compound tires are permitted on the right front and right rear for asphalt events.
11. WHEELS
Wheels must be of adequate strength to sustain the loads imposed by race speed cornering. Lug studs and lug nuts must be adequate to properly mount the wheels used. Steel, aluminum, aluminum bead lock, steel with aluminum bead lock, magnesium wheels allowed.
12. FRAME-50’s & 60’S CLASS
All original, OEM North American (GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc) subject to annual and random inspection for strength and integrity.
13. FRAME-70”S & 80’S CLASS

Production square tube frames (Bicknell, Teo, Troyer, etc) must be minimum of three (3) years old.

Home built square tube frames accepted, subject to annual and random inspection for strength and integrity.
14. ENGINES
The determination of which engine configuration that can be used in a particular class shall be determined by the style/configuration/year of the chassis/frame combination as opposed to the body style. For example: a coupe body mounted on an 80's style chassis isn't eligible to run "any single 4 barrel carburetor" as described in Rule 14.8 .

Any factory OEM single barrel cast iron manifolds only, stock bolt pattern.

May be ported and polished or two(2) barrel intake, Offenhauser or Clifford. No modified runners to be installed into intakes.

May use factory OEM 2 barrel or Holley 500 CFM #4412 2-barrel. Choke plate may be removed. No grinding, polishing or opening of Venturi size.

No fuel injections, blowers, turbos or electrical fuel pumps.

No alcohol or nitrous oxide systems.
14.6V-8 Engines OHV 50’s and 60’s Class
Any North American motor, not to exceed 358 cubic inch piston displacement.

14.7V-8 Engines 70’s & 80’s Class
-
GM-283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, including sealed GM crate engine part #88958602 complete with intake manifold. The 4 barrel carb must be removed and an adaptor plate to accommodate Holley two(2) barrel carb 500cfm #4412 must be installed.
-
If a factory sealed crate engine has been opened up for any reason (sealing bolts tampered with/removed) the 4 barrel intake manifold must be removed and replaced with a stock cast-iron two(2) barrel manifold. See section (s) for applicable intake rule.
-
When an adapter is used, the plate thickness must not exceed 1.000". Only one gasket not to exceed .100" thickness may be used between the intake manifold and spacer and spacer and carburetor base. No adjustable plates permitted.

Stock bore/stroke combinations only. Max. overbore of .060 permitted.
-
Cranks- Cast iron or Forged Steel. No billet crankshafts. All cranks must be stock. No modifications to the crankshaft to reduce weight (static or rotating) or affect windage are permitted. This will include but is not limited to machining by any means, reshaping, knife edging, drilling grinding, polishing or any other method of modifying any physical characteristic of the stock crankshaft. Rod journal diameter must be stock or allow for a maximum diameter reduction (grind) of .030" for repair purposes.
-
Rods- Must be stock length. Aftermarket rods are permitted providing the rod length and big end bore/rod journal size meet stock specifications. No aluminum or titanium rods.
-
Pistons - Flattop only, cast or forged.
-
Camshaft-Hydraulic or solid lifter cams permitted. Stock firing order must be maintained. No roller lifter camshafts permitted.
-
Timing gear and Chain - Stock gear and chain or roller gear and chain.
-
Absolutely no gear or belt drive drive camshaft/valvetrains.
-
OEM Factory cylinder Heads only- All heads to remain completely stock. No angle milling. No combustion chamber modifications. No porting, polishing, blending, reshaping, deburring and/or gasket matching is permitted in the intake or exhaust ports under any circumstances.
-
Valve head/seat diameter must match stock size for casting number. No enlarging of any valves. No bowl cutting, grinding or enlarging under the valve seat is permitted.
-
Valve stem minimum diameter must remain stock. Undercut valves not permitted.
-
Screw in studs or drilling/pinning of studs may be performed.
-
THE FOLLOWING HEADS ARE NOT ALLOWED - Chevy 492, 292, Bowtie, Ford 302 Boss. No OEM or aftermarket manufacturer’s performance heads such as/but not limited to Dart, World, Brownfield, Brezinski are permitted.
-
Valve Train-Push rods and rockers - any stock or aftermarket push rod or rockers, including rollers may be used providing they meet manufacturer’s specification for length and ratio. NO REV KITS permitted.
-
Intakes- With the exception of sealed crate engines using a 4 barrel intake, intake manifolds must be OEM factory cast-iron 2 barrel configuration. No porting, polishing, gasket matching or port altering modifications permitted.
14.8V-8 Carburetion 50’s & 60’s Class OHV
Any single four barrel carburetor allowed.
14.9V-8 Carburetion 70’s & 80’s Class
-
2 barrel Holley 500 CFM #4412. Choke plate can be removed.
-
No grinding, polishing or opening of venturi size.
-
No fuel injection, blowers, turbos or electrical fuel pumps.
-
No alcohol or nitrous oxide.
-
No cutting, grinding, polishing or spacer plates allowed, other than
Adaptor plate for 500 Holley 2 barrel intake.
-
Ignition-Any type ignition allowed.
-
Exhaust System-headers or exhaust manifold.
15.THROTTLE LINKAGE – All hardware in the throttle linkage system shall be properly designed, installed and in good condition and properly lubricated. Dual throttle return springs shall be provided. Accelerator pedal “toe loop” is highly recommended.
16. COOLING SYSTEM – The top of the radiator must be covered by suitable body/sheet metal. Coolant shall be water only – no antifreeze. All radiator hose connections should be double clamped. No electric fans permitted.
17. SUSPENSION REAR AXLE- 50’s & 60’s Class
-
Leaf spring only.
-
No torsion bars.
-
No re-valvable shocks, including nitrogen.
-
No inside the car suspension adjustments of any kind.
-
One shock per corner only.
18. SUSPENSION REAR AXLE 70’S & 80’S CLASS
-
Only one spring and one shock per corner allowed.
-
There must be no components, systems or sub-systems on the car that will provide separate or additional spring rate to the individual shock and/or spring utilized as described in Article 18. No exceptions.
-
Coil over shock/spring combinations allowed
-
Separately mounted coil springs are permitted.
-
Lower shock mounts may be attached to torsion arms. If car is equipped with torsion arms/torsion bars for shock mounting purposes, the torsion stop must be removed or otherwise modified to fully disable and/or remove any torsional resistance or spring rate acting individually or separately in each bar/lever combination.
-
Functional torsion bars will not be permitted.
-
No re-valvable shocks, pressure adjustable (including nitrogen) shocks permitted.
-
No inside the car suspension adjustments of any kind are permitted.
19. SUSPENSION FRONT AXLE-ALL CLASSES
-
An axle or A-frame.
-
Any combination of shocks, coil overs or springs…one coil, one shock per corner.
-
No new type revalvable shocks, including nitrogen.
-
No torsion bars.
20. STARTING
Car must be self starting with operating clutch able to pull away and back up with engine running.
21. TRANSMISSION
-
American made standard or automatic shift.
-
Must have fully functional forward and reverse gears.
-
May use internal clutch transmission such as Hager, Brinn, Bert.
22. DIFFERENTIALS
-
American made car or truck rear ends.
-
Quick change rears permitted.
-
Differential alignment must meet current DIRT Sportsman/Modified rules. (No big offsets)
-
No lockers
23. DRIVE SHAFT
No drive shaft shall be exposed to driver’s compartment. Drive shaft safety loop required. Drive shaft must be painted white.
24. FUEL CELL
-
Fuel cells are mandatory.
-
The fuel cell must be accessible for inspection purposes. The fuel cell must be enclosed completely in a rectangle and/or square container that is a minimum thickness of 20-gauge sheet steel. If sheet aluminum is used to enclose the fuel cell, the aluminum must be a minimum of .060”-inch in thickness. It is recommended that the bottom panel be thicker than 1/16".

The fuel cap/filler hole must be located on the top of the fuel cell. No quick fill systems allowed. Fuel cells must be equipped with a secure fuel cap and fully functioning rollover valve protection including the vent tube.
-
The fuel cell must be securely mounted directly behind the driver's seat aligned between the parallel main frame rails of the cage. The bottom of the fuel cell must be a minimum of 12" from the ground. No section of the fuel cell sheet metal enclosure shall extend beyond the boundary of the line measured vertically from the outer walls of the lower frame rails measured at the rear of the driver's seat. The top panel covering the fuel cell must not be higher than the lowest surface of the rear window opening.
25. FUEL
-
Only pump gas rated less than 116 octane rating permitted.
-
No oxygenating additives permitted. These will include but are not limited to methanol, nitrous oxide, nitro-methane and/or propylene oxide.
-
No octane boosting additives permitted.
26. WEIGHT
-
The top (3) cars from the feature must proceed directly to the weigh scales for inspection. Any driver/car entering the pits post race prior to being weighed will be considered in violation of the rules and subject to disqualification.
-
Cars must weigh no more than their minimum weight of 2400 lbs with the driver, directly after the race. There will be no error factor allowed regarding minimum scaled weight. The weight registered at the track scales will be considered final in all cases. It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that their car meets minimum weight requirements.
-
Any competitor from any race outside the top (3) cars may be required to scale their car after a specific race at the discretion of the EOVSCC officials and/or track race directors.
-
Any car not conforming to the minimum weight requirements will be deemed to be in violation of the rules and subject to disqualification forfeiting all points, prizes, trophies and position for that event.
-
The weight rule will be strictly enforced; at the discretion of EOVSCC officials, a weight discrepancy of more than (50 lbs.) under the legal weight will be considered a Gross Rules violation and thus subject to discipline according to rule #47.
-
All weight that is added to a car must be securely mounted and painted white.
27. ROLL CAGE, CRASH BARS, BUMPERS & PADDING
-
The structural design and integrity of the roll cage is paramount and will be scrutinized prior to and throughout the racing season.
-
Roll cage tubing shall be a minimum 1-1/2" O.D./.125" wall thickness or 1-3/4"O.D./.095" wall thickness seamless tubing. All joints shall be properly fitted and welded for maximum strength. The roll cage assembly must be securely fastened to the main frame rails by welding.
-
Homebuilt roll cages shall provide adequate driver crash protection by installing a minimum of (3) horizontal and (2) vertical appropriately spaced bars with gussets on both sides of the cage. These bars must meet the roll cage tubing specifications as described above.
-
All roll bars or similar items located in the cockpit to which the driver's head may come into contact with must be adequately padded with approved high density padding. Plumbing insulation is not allowed. Additional padding and/or protection should be installed on any component or area that may come in contact with the driver's arms, legs, knees or other body parts.
-
Crash bars and bumpers must be made of .090" or greater wall thickness 1-1/2" seamless tubing.
28. Traction Control Devices
-
All electronic and/or computerized wheel spin and/or ignition retardation and/or acceleration limiting and/or traction control devices of any type will not be permitted.
-
Adjustable ping control devices, dial a chip controls, timing controls and/or automated throttle controls will not be permitted.
-
Adjustable restrictor plates will not be permitted.
29. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM –The battery must be covered and securely mounted to protect driver and fuel tank. An ignition shut-off switch shall be mounted in close proximity to the driver when secured in the driver's seat. The electrical shut-off switch must be clearly labelled “off & on”.
30. BRAKES
Brake pressure bias adjusters are allowed. Shut off valves not permitted. The car must have operable and effective brakes on all (4) wheels at all times.
31. FUEL SYSTEM
-
No electric fuel pumps permitted.
-
No glass bowls on pumps or filters permitted.
-
No rubber fuel hoses permitted in cockpit. All rubber low pressure automotive grade fuel hoses should have two hose clamps installed. Only steel tubing or braided lines are required where fuel line passes through driver’s cockpit.
-
A fuel shut-off ball valve will be securely mounted in the cockpit area within reach of driver or emergency personnel. The fuel shut off valve will be painted "RED" and clearly be labelled "FUEL" as well as indicating the "ON" & "OFF" positions.
32. FIRE WALLS
Adequate firewalls must be in place to isolate the driver’s compartment from the engine and fuel cell areas. Holes in firewalls should be of the minimum size and quantity necessary. Pay special attention to clearance for throttle linkage to ensure that there will be no binding or interference.
33. SCATTER SHIELD
Clutch bell-housings that are located within the driver’s cockpit must be of the explosion proof scatter shield (Lakewood or similar SFI certified only).
34. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
All participants shall have a readily available a fully charged fire extinguisher capable of fighting gasoline and oil fires. In-car extinguishers are optional, if used they must be mounted securely with metal brackets. On-board fire suppression systems are permitted.
35. MANDATORY SAFETY ITEMS—DRIVER’S SAFETY IS VITAL

Driver must wear a proper fitting full faced Snell-rated SA 2005, or SA 2010 helmet with shield, goggles or other suitable eye protection
-
Fire resistant driver’s suit, racing gloves, and fire resistant shoes shall be worn at all times when cars are on track. Fire resistant underwear, neck collar and arm restraints are highly recommended.
-
One way radio is mandatory - it is the driver's responsibility to ensure that their one way radio is functioning during practice, heat and feature races.
36. TECHNICAL INSPECTION
-
Technical inspection will be conducted by and at the sole discretion of officials appointed by the EOVSCC.
-
Any/all decisions will be at the sole discretion of the of inspectors and will be considered final.
-
All rules will be interpreted by directors/track officials and not by the drivers/owners.
-
Speedway track officials and or directors have the right to check any car at any time for safety/technical inspections.
-
The EOVSCC officials and/or directors have the right to reject any entry at any time.
-
Technical inspections of cars will include periodic and/or random inspections of engine components or systems to ensure that they meet the minimum safety and technical requirements.
-
Inspections will include but are not limited to removing wheels, body panels, intake manifolds, headers, cylinder heads and/or oil pans.
-
Any time or circumstance that a driver/owner/crewmember refuses the request of an EOVSCC Official/Inspector to submit their car for inspection, it will be considered a Gross Violation of the rules and subject to immediate disqualification according to Rule #46.
37. DUES AND NEW MEMBERS
-
A visitor may race as a guest with the EOVSCC on one occasion with any type of vintage car without joining the EOVSCC providing that it meets the EOVSCC minimum safety standards. Refer to Eligibility of Cars for car qualification.
-
Visitors will pay a “one time per season” fee of $45 to the club to be eligible to race in an EOVSCC sanctioned event.
-
Only club members will receive club points and collect prizes and trophies.
-
Car owner/general member registration is $25 per/year to be paid before the 2nd race of the season. After the 1st race a car cannot race until the dues are paid.
-
Car registration is $20 per/year to be paid before the 2nd race of the season. After the 1st race a car cannot race until the dues are paid.
-
Fees include one membership card which must be shown upon entrance into other tracks, should they request it.
-
Only paid members will have the privilege of suggesting rule changes and voting at membership meetings.
38. DRIVER REGISTRATION
All drivers must be registered to participate in all races. It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure they are registered.
39. ELIGIBILITY OF CARS
-
The Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club events are open to any full-scale Stock Cars (no open cockpit) that are representative of the cars that competed in dirt oval track racing in Eastern Ontario/Northern New York from the early 1950’s through the early 1980’s, provided that they meet the prescribed minimum safety standards and the respective technical specifications of the EOVSCC.

Drivers participating in more than one EOVSCC on-track racing event per season are required to be registered members is good standing with the EOVSCC. Non-members may participate, as “guests”, in one event per season without a membership/registration, provided that their car meets the minimum safety standards and the respective technical specifications detailed herein. Guest participants will not be eligible to win and/or collect trophies, prizes or accumulate championship points.

Non EOVSCC compliant race cars entered for competition in an EOVSCC event must meet the prescribed minimum safety standards of the EOVSCC as indicated AND comply with the current rules of the recognized vintage dirt modified stock racing club that the guest driver is a current member in good standing.
40. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY
-
Guest Driver - The EOVSCC defines a Guest Driver as an experienced (verifiable) competitor that is a member (past/present) of a recognized vintage dirt modified stock car club and/or other recognized dirt oval race sanctioning body.

Rookie Driver - The EOVSCC defines a rookie as a novice driver with less than one full season of full scale car racing experience. At the sole discretion of the Directors and/or track officials, a rookie will be required to start a MINIMUM of three (3) complete races at the rear of the field.
41. DRIVER ABILITY
The EOVSCC reserves the right at their sole discretion to restrict or deny a driver’s eligibility to compete in any or all EOVSCC events any driver who demonstrates an inability to maintain control of their car during an event without justifiable cause. When deemed necessary at the sole discretion of the EOVSCC Executive, the identified driver will be counseled and permitted to compete in a manner with possible restrictions as determined by the EOVSCC Executive until an acceptable improvement is noted.
42. LINEUPS

Line-ups will be determined by drawing for position.
-
Heats will be run in the order of the draw.
-
Feature will run in reverse order with the exception of the previous feature winner.

Feature winners will draw for heat position, but will not draw for feature position for the remainder of the season
-
Feature winners will start the next feature at the rear, ahead of the rookies and those who ask to start at the back: cars will move up as the season progresses as the latest feature winner will be further to the rear.
-
If you are moving to the rear of the field, you must let the person doing the line-ups know before the line-ups are posted.
-
A guest driver from another club will be allowed to draw if they have more than one season of racing experience.
-
Heat and feature line-ups will be posted on the whiteboard in front of the pit area canteen; it is the responsibility of the driver to know where they start.
-
All Ford Dingwall Memorial Racing Series events will be subject to the event procedural rules dictated by that particular series. In the event that there is a conflict between the FDMRS and EOVSCC lineup, race procedure or championship points calculation, the FDMRS rules will take precedent for the FDMRS events only
43. LEVEL PLAYING FIELD
After a 2nd feature win the Directors will rule by vote on:
-
installing a restrictor plate
-
adding more weight define amount of weight
-
changing the gear ratio or tire stagger.
-
All Ford Dingwall Memorial Racing Series events in 2014 will be exempt from Rules 43 (a through c).
44. TRACK STARTER
-
The Starter has complete charge of the track.
-
Drivers shall comply with the starter’s command, whether given verbally, by hand signal, flag or radio communication.
-
Failure to comply with the starter's commands may be considered a Gross Rules Violation subject to penalty under Rule 47.
45. GENERAL CONDUCT
-
No owner/driver/pit crew shall conduct themselves in a manner that is seen as not being in the best interest of the EOVSCC.
-
No owner/driver/pit crew shall use abusive or threatening language, threaten bodily harm or equipment damage when addressing another driver/owner, track official, Director or subject such persons to unwanted physical contact or verbal/written harassment.
-
Aggressive driving will not be tolerated.
-
Any driver shall not, while racing, commit unnecessary contact, harassment or use any driving tactic, whether intentional or not, that is considered dangerous by the Starter, Pit Steward, track officials and/or Directors.
-
Should any owner/driver/pit crew contravene the above rules, they will be subject to a loss of points and/or suspension (up to total suspension) at the discretion of the Directors and/or track officials.
-
The driver will be held personally accountable and responsible for anybody associated with your car.
-
The consequences of any of the above actions shall be as follows:
-
1st infraction will result in a three (3) race suspension and forfeit of ALL points earned to date, and return on a 3 race probation.
-
2nd infraction will result in a total suspension for the remainder of the season and following season will be under probation.
-
3rd infraction will result in permanent suspension.
-
Offences are cumulative.
46. PIT CONDUCT
-
Aggression, both physical and verbal towards either fellow competitors, track officials and/or EOVSCC officials in the pits will not be tolerated and will subject to disciplinary action.
-
It is the policy of the Speedway that drinking in the pits is prohibited during any racing event.
-
You are personally responsible for any person associated with your car. If you or anyone associated with your car has been found to be drinking alcohol, you and your team will be escorted off the premises for the night and could face a possible total suspension of car and crew by the race track officials.
47. Rules Violation
-
Weight Violation - Any driver/car to be found in violation of the minimum required weight rule will be penalized according to rule 26.
-
Gross Rules Violation - Any driver/car determined to be in violation of the rules the 1st time will be moved to the rear of the field for the next two (2) races and forfeit all points to date and the trophy for that event.
-
If a driver/car is found in violation and penalized for a Gross Rules Violation a 2nd time the driver/car will be suspended for the next three (3) races and will start at the rear for the remainder of the season and forfeit all points to date and the trophy for that event.
-
If a driver/car is found penalized for a Gross Rules Violation a 3rd time the car/driver will be suspended for the remainder of the season and be on probation for the entire next season, if allowed to return at all.
48. MEETINGS
-
A membership meeting to elect a new executive will be held at minimum, every two (2) years.
-
A membership meeting to review the general rules is to held at minimum, every two (2) years and rules are valid until the next review.
-
Voting will be one vote per driver/owner team, unless both have paid memberships.
-
The member must be present at the meeting to vote, no proxy voters.
-
The rules governing general/pit conduct will be reviewed by the Directors on an as need basis and at minimum every two (2) years.
-
All Directors will be entitled to vote.
